Hollywood Celebs Read Mean Tweets..About Themselves!

This video made my day. HIGH-larious! Watch this crazy segment from Jimmy Kimmel Live as celebrities read nasty, rude tweets about them!

At least they’re pretty cool about these things. The same thing should be done to Pinoy celebrities, TBH.

Anne Hathaway & Her New Haircut

Have you seen “The Dark Knight Rises”? Anne Hathaway (along with Marion Cotillard) totally stole the show. I am planning on having a full review of the film but I decided not to go ahead with it, the film is full of unexpected and exciting twists and I might ruin and spoil it for those of you who haven’t seen it. Plus, I am not a film critic anyway so why bother? Let me put it this way, if you haven’t seen it or don’t have any plans of watching it on the big screen, then you’re a total idiot.

Remember when I said that Michelle Pfeiffer is probably the best catwoman ever? Not anymore. Pfeiffer’s version of Selina Kyle is definitely fierce but Hathaway’s take on the role is the most badass version of Catwoman ever. Anne Hathaway exceeded my expectations, and she delivered major awesomeness. This woman is incredible!

But have you seen her new look?

At first my jaw literally dropped on the floor and I was like, “What the eff happened?”. And she definitely lost a lot of weight too. Then I remembered that she’s set to portray Fantine in the upcoming musical “Les Misérables” and it requires her to have this pixie ‘do. As for her uber-skinny figure, Anne said in an interview, “For ‘Les Miz,’ since I play a tubercular, impoverished prostitute, my weight-loss regimen was to make me look incredibly sick and near death. I lost 25 pounds. It was very hard.” She also added that cutting her hair was her idea.

And speaking of Lez Miz,  I finally saw the trailer and I actually felt like crying while watching it. See it for yourself:

What do you think of the trailer? Thoughts?

The sixth edition of ‘Generation Lookbook’ is long over-due. And what better way to make a comeback than to feature a lady that defines quirkiness, class, and fierceness all at the same time. Meet Stephanie Dy, a 24 year-old blogger and fashion lover from Butuan City. Now, this girl is definitely raising the flag of being a Bisaya, and without a doubt, raising the bar of being fashionable and stylish.

THE STYLE.
My style depends on my mood so I’m not really sure on how to describe my style. I can go all colorful to an all black ensemble. Overall i think my style is very versatile.

TOP 3 FASHION MUST-HAVES.
1. Gold watch
2. Black JC Lita boots
3. A good pair of denim high waisted shorts

FAVORITE CLOTHING BRAND.
If i see something I like, I buy it.. so I don’t really stick to just one brand. But I must admit, I like to shop at brands like Zara, Topshop, H&M, Forever21 and of course, our very own PINKaholic. =)

FASHION/STYLE ICON.
I get a lot of inspirations from these fashion goddesses: Kate Lanphear, Rachel Zoe, Taylor Momsen, Rumi Neely and Serena Vander Woodsen of ‘Gossip Girl’.

THE FASHION PHILOSOPHY.
Fashion is a way of expressing ones self without having to say anything at all. So go for anything you feel comfortable in. Don’t wear it if it doesn’t make you feel good about yourself, trust me, you’ll just end up hating it for the entire day.

‘Magic Mike’

Image

If there is one thing remarkable about Channing Tatum’s latest movie ‘Magic Mike’,(other than the countless sexy, feast-to-the eye-numbers, or Tatum’s sexy ass), is definitely the fact that the film is not cheesy. Sure, Steven Soderbergh made sure that extremely sexy, sweaty, and greasy(?) scenes and production numbers were present in the film to tickle your fancy and your imagination, but he also made sure that the movie has a heart. And aside from the relatable drama and romance, and a respectable plot, the actors in the film also gave astonishing performances that added depth to the story.

Image

Channing Tatum is the main attraction of the movie. You will find yourself in a theater filled with screaming fans (hey ladies!) just as the first part of the film starts to roll in and Tatum’s sexy and meaty ‘behind’ greets the crowd. Tatum plays the 30-year-old Mike, a construction worker by day,and a hot “girl-magnet” stripper at night. He met his young protégé Adam (played by Alex Pettyfer) at a constuction site and soon finds himself teaching the young man the do’s and dont’s of the male stripper world. Adam joins this new-found and exciting world and he eventually becomes a favorite among the crowd. Pettyfer is very effective in portraying the role of Adam, a.k.a ‘The Kid’. His transition from being an innocent guy to an unsuspecting victim of sex, drugs, fame, & alcohol is a topnotch.

Matthew McConaughey as Dallas, the owner and leader of the strip revue, is also remarkable in the movie. His sleazy and cunning character added a great balance of humor and ‘naughtiness’ in the movie.

Image

The movie is loosely based on Channing Tatum’s life back when he was a stripper (for real!), so it is quite interesting to note that he actually co-produced the movie as well.

Image

Now, this is where the love story comes in. Cody Horn as Brooke is the love interest of Mike. She is also the charming, overprotective sister of Adam. I haven’t seen the rest of Horn’s filmography, but in this movie, she definitely delivered an amazing performance. The love story part of the film is sincere, unforced, and charming. It’s like you just wanted the two of them to fall in love with each other as soon as they met, and you just wanted them to, oh well, make some love together.

Image

The movie as a whole, is a great entertainment. Although some scenes are quite dragging, they are, for the most part, forgivable..and forgettable.’Magic Mike’ is a must-see for the ladies out there. If you’re looking for a smart, sexy, romantic movie, then this one is for you. Oh, and don’t forget to save 20 dollars. Why? Well, you just have to find out!

Ukay-Ukay

Do I love shopping? Yes. Do I love expensive brands? Yes. Do I always have the money to buy these things? Well, I don’t. And that is the reason why I love “Ukays”. Sure, every now and then, whenever I have the ‘moolah’ to buy my favorite brands, such as Topman or Zara Man, or local brands such as F&H, I do splurge on clothes. But to be honest, it’s probably a once in a blue moon event (hence, the reason why i splurge). But I learned that I can find fashionable treasures on ukay-ukays as well.  I learned this from my sister and my mom, who are selling clothes online that came from the ukay. One of my coolest friends, Candy, is so fashionable and she looks so expensive, but mind you, her clothes, according to her, were purchased from the ukay as well.  I am definitely fascinated whenever I see her wearing these fabulous clothes.Fabulous from head to toe! Most of us are acquainted with yard and garage sales, but ukay-ukay stores, or ‘wagwagan’, or thrift stores are definitely the coolest!

“Ukay Ukay. Also know as “Wagwagan.” These are thrift stores selling anything from used clothing to children’s toys. If you’re lucky, you may find an authentic vintage Louis Vuitton Bag for a fraction of the cost on Ebay! Fashion on a budget enjoy the unique ukay-ukay shopping experience, stay chic and fashionable without hurting your budget – get ready to look like a million bucks for less” -ukayukayheaven.blogspot.com

Just recently, my friends and I went bargain hunting at a nearby Ukay in Cubao. It’s a brand haven to be honest! You should try it too if you’re into brands such as H&M, UniQlo, and there are Prada, Gucci, and Topshop hidden somewhere.  So PATIENCE IS DEFINITELY A MUST! And please bear with the smell, it kinda stinks a little pero medyo lang naman. ‘Wag na maarte! And I must say that I enjoyed it a lot!!

Anyway, after almost three hours of treasure hunting (lol), I found these amazing pieces, and I bought all of these just for a measly Php500. I have other pieces pa but i wasn’t able to take pictures so let me share with you these photos first.

Feeling model lang! Pagbigyan na!

H&M Long Sleeve Sweater. Nice!

This one is a piece from Uniqlo. No need to go to the MOA branch just to find this one!

Hane’s shirt but it looks awesome! Don’t you just love the occult art on the shirt?

I’m gonna post more photos of my amazing finds real soon!

Generation Lookbook #5: Kiko Cagayat

“Actually, I still have no idea about fashion. I consider myself as a fashion victim. My family always ask me how did I get my interest with fashion and I just don’t know what to say. Maybe I just have this hidden talent with styling. It’s just fine that you’re always not into fashion. “

It’s kinda ironic how a stylish young man like Kiko Cagayat, a 22-year-old style lover from Japan, could utter such  statement. Based from his Lookbook photos, the guy screams ‘fashion’ from head to toe. Okay, let’s give him the benefit of the doubt. Maybe the young man is purely humble. Or, most probably, he simply has no  clue that he is, after all, a bona fide fashionista, born to show the world his unique style and fierce attitude.

Meet Me Downtown. Get the look: Eyewear-Rayban Wayfarer; Polo Shirt-Fred Perry; Messenger Bag-Prada; Watch-Givenchy;

A Quick Bio.
I was born in the Philippines but currently living in Japan. I’m not really into fashion but I just learned about it after I joined online fashion blogging 2 years ago, although I don’t consider myself as a fashion blogger.

The Style.
I don’t have my own style.I dress up as different characters before, since I love watching movies. I was still searching for my style during those days. And after trying out many different looks, I found my own style although I still copy from others. I am comfortable with hats and simple shirts, skinny pants and boots. Being simple is more fine with me.

Top 3 Fashion Must-Haves.
Black Boots- You can wear it everywhere. From casual to formal, summer up until winter. I just wear a pair of boots on half of my looks in my Lookbook page.

Black Skinny Jeans- Pair it with your black boots. All you have to do is change your top. I always do this thing and it saves me more money.

RayBan Wayfarer-Just to add ‘edginess’ on your look and it also adds appeal whenever you wear a wayfarer.I have this “celebrity” feeling whenever I wear it outside. lol –(i agree to this-The Amiology)

Favorite Clothing Brand.
I love the T-shirts and chinos of Topman. The shoes from Zara are really stylish but nevertheless I don’t really look at the brand. I’m a fan of online shopping brands. their styles are always in trend. I love their creativeness although sometimes they are expensive too.

Fashion/Style Icon.
James Dean
“Blue Jeans, white shirt” as described by Lana Del Rey.The bad boy look, I think it appeals to the girls a lot.

Fashion Philosophy.
What’s important is that you’re comfortable with it. Dress properly in every occasion. Being simple is already an “x factor” for me. I don’t look on how people put on clothes, but on how they carry themselves in it.
